When must an employer register for EPF?
EPF registration is mandatory for establishments with 20 or more employees. Establishments with less than 20 employees can voluntarily register. Registration must be obtained within one month of becoming eligible. Non-compliance can result in penalties and retrospective coverage.
What is the penalty for late ECR filing?
Delayed deposits attract interest at 12% per annum plus damages (penalty) up to 25% of the arrears per annum, depending on the delay period. For serious or repeated defaults, higher penalties may apply. We ensure timely filing to avoid these penalties.
